The thirds pulled off a badly needed victory over Ricmond in the last round of the Gleeson league on Saturday Afternoon in Bruff. Bruff opened the scoring with a Davie Clarke penalty but were back on Level terms shortly after. The first try of the game came after a good drive off a line out by the Bruff pack. A series of pick and drives ended with Sham Sheahan touching down to the right of the Richmond posts. Richmond added a penalty shortly after to leave the score 8-6 at half time. A second Bruff try was added not long after half time when centre Eoin Cahill broke the Richmond defence to leave the score at 13-6. Richmond added a further penalty before full-time but couldn’t break down a solid Bruff defence before the final whistle.
