Unfortunately this didn’t pan out but thankfully they did get the win beating Old Crescent 38-7 at home in Kilballyowen.
Bruff opened the scoring early in the first half and raced into a 17-0 lead with trys from Alan Kilcoyne, Mossie O Donnell and a superb individual try from Charlie Fitzgerald, Ritchie McAuliffe adding a Conversion. Crescent hit back to make it 17-7 before John O Sullivan used his pace scoring a try from inside the Bruff half to leave the score 24-7 at half time.
Crescent were on the attack from early on in the second half but could not break down the Bruff defence. Alan Kilcoyne added his second try midway through the second half with Mike McCarthy scoring a sixth Bruff try before the final whistle.
