3rd’s v Richmond 19/10
The 3rds were defeated 22-10 by Richmond under lights in Bruff on Friday Evening.
Richmond were first out of the blocks scoring an unconverted try after 15 mins. Bruff responded shortly after with a try from Tony Clancy which was converted by Eoin Quinn.
Richmond had the best of the remainder of the opening half and scored 2 more try’s before the break to make the score 17-7 at half time.
It was Bruff who started the better in the second half with the pack dominating for the opening 20 minutes. Bruff were rewarded with a penalty which Eoin Quinn slotted over, but this was too little for the amount of possession and territory which Bruff were enjoying. Richmond defended well and to their credit the defence was outstanding during the whole of the second half. Richmond added another try with 10 minutes remaining and never looked like giving up the lead from there.
