Bruff now play at home to Sundays Well. Kick off to be confirmed.
Training for the Under 16 team starts on Friday 25th August. All players are required to be on the training pitch for 5:50 pm.
As this is the first training session for the new season we would like to see all players and those that haven’t played last season return this year. The year for eligibility to play at Under 16 is 2002.
New players are welcomed to join.
Bruff RFC would Like to take this opportunity to thank the following for their great help in running this years golf classic.
Ballyneety golf club: and in particular the following members of staff for their help on the 2 days:
Margaret & Leanne for all their help & organisation.
Johnny & Brian & the bar & restaurant staff for all the meals & drinks over the duration.
Our fantastic sponsors:
There were over 40 without whose help and support we would not have been able to run the competition. Every time without fail they continuously come to the rescue.
The teams:
On what was a particularly rough day to be out on the course, over 30 teams turned out to play. Again thank you for your support for another year and we hope that you enjoyed yourselves.
Bruff RFC executive & finance committees:
For their help in fundraising, arranging the sponsors & work throughout the running of the competition.
Three were 6 main competition prizes with others for the mixed teams, nearest the pin, & longest drive.
Congratulations to our prizewinners:
Longest drive: Greg Moran
Nearest the pin: Stephen O’Kelly
Best mixed team: Michael, Cathal & Patricia Hehir.
We know that you’ve been asking almost weekly what was happening with this seasons Bull ‘n’ booze, and while it was delayed due to the WWRC taking place and the subsequent tying up of all of the IRFU referees.
The Format this year is going to be a little different as it has to take place at Rugby Season time so what we have decided to do is to re-jig the competition to create a midnight final under floodlights on the Friday night.
Games are going to start at around 7:00 pm on Friday night with the competition running straight through until the floodlit final.
We will announce the full competition and booking details through the IRFU booking system over the next few days.
Many thanks for your forbearance during the last few weeks as we tried to figure out how we were going to create a decent structure that gave you, the competitors, the standard of competition that you expect and deserve. We think that this format will best serve both you and us this season.
