The 3rds have made it to the final of the Webb Cup thanks to a hard earned 25-19 victory over Garryowen in Bruff on Saturday. Bruff were quick out of the blocks with Andrew Breen scoring a try which Ritchie McAulliffe Converted. Garryowen hit back within a few minutes with a try of their own with a second following shortly after. Ritchie McAulliffe kicked two penalties to bring the score to 13-12. John O Sullivan added another try before the break to leave the score 20-12 at half time.
Breen added his second try shortly after the break. No. 8 Shane O Donnell broke from the back of a Scrum and linked with the winger to score in the corner. Garryowen dug in and were rewarded with a try with 15 minutes to go to set up a nail biting finish.
Bruff showed great defensive to hold out and set up a final with Ul Bohemians who beat Old Cresent in the other semi final.
