Two tries was enough to see off Cashel in the 4th round of the League. But for some excellent defending the result could have gone in favour of Cashel.
The first try came mid-way through the opening half against the run of play. John O Sullivan playing at full back made a 50 yard break but was tackled just short of the try line. Some good support play and quick hands across the line resulted with Ger Donoghue touching down in the opposite corner.
Bruff didn’t score again until late in the second half. A try from Martin Hennessy was enough to seal the victory. Cashel did score two penalties but they never looked like going over the Bruff try line. A specail mention for John Dunworth who celebrated his 30th birthday during the week. He had an outstanding game (seems to be getting better with age).
