Everyone at Bruff RFC would like to congratulate Dylan Reeves-Wasik on winning his first Irish cap. Dylan pictured above with his family, was part of the squad for the Irish youths Clubs team who played Italy last weekend in Ashbourne. Dylan who captained the Munster clubs team this season is a member of the Bruff U18’s team who recently captured the North Munster league title and are currently competing in the Pan Munster u18’s league.
Also part of Bruff’s player development programme this cap is just reward for many hours of gym and skills sessions which have been run by the clubs development officers over the summer months for the last number of years. This is the 2nd year in a row a player from the programme has represented Ireland with Brian Fanning also picking up caps last year for the Irish club team.
When asked about his first cap Dylan said:
“It was a great honour to represent my country last weekend and it all still seems like a dream coming true. I can not thank enough the people who have helped me to get here. Bruff has played a massive role in making me the player I am, the coaches and the club are top class. They have always been very supportive and given me the belief which has allowed me to get to this stage. All the coaches I have had along the way, in Bruff, Munster and Ireland, have given me great confidence and set me in the right direction. The people I want to thank the most are my family, especially my parents and grandparents. They have inspired me and been there for me when ever I have needed them. This experience has been like no other and I don’t want this dream to end”
