Well done to the Junior 2XV who beat Richmond 11-9 at Canal Bank on Saturday last.
The J2 team collected the McInerney Cup for the 5th time in Bruff’s history with a hard fought 11-9 victory over Richmond on Saturday afternoon at Canal Bank.
Richmond had the better of the first half and lead 6-3 at half time with 2 penalties from Ross O Neill. Ritchie McAuliffe kicked the only Bruff score of the opening half. Richmond added another penalty 15 minutes into the second half. This was to be Richmond’s last score of the game. With 20 minutes remaining in the game Bruff began to take control and added two scores to take the lead, a try in the corner from Marcus Mulvihil and a long range penalty from Ritchie McAuliffe which proved to be the winner. Richmond did miss 3 penalties in the last 10 minutes but Bruff showed massive intensity in defence to deny Richmond any try scoring opportunity.

At the minute the date for the Bateman Final is the weekend of the 9th of April. However that is not definite and it may well be moved as it is a Heineken Cup weekend. No word on venue either.
Is there a definative date and venue for Bateman Cup final in April ? Thanks.
Well done to the 3rds on winning the McInerney cup for the 5th time since 2000 when Paul O Shea lifted the cup for the first time is brilliant. Well done to Dessie Power on winning his 5th McInerney Cup Medal.
